Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email message when needed to answer it. Messages remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical and visit information:
- Page-view dates and times

- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring site, when available

We do not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site identifies official Jones County sources, including the sheriff and jail, the Iowa District Court, Iowa DCI, and the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into a third-party criminal file or consumer report. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Independent companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy terms govern the information entered there, including retention and disclosure. We cannot control those practices. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.

Links may lead to Jones County offices, Iowa agencies, court portals, legal resources, or outside tools. After leaving this site, the destination's privacy rules apply. Check them before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
